Malaysia Grand Prix 2017, Kuala Lumpur

I'm not a massive fan of Grand Prix racing but I do follow it every season and I've always wanted to go to a race. Since I'm in Asia and near the cheapest GP on the calendar, I thought a few months back that I'd give it a go and watch. Today was the day I finally got to go to a Grand Prix.

We went to the final practice on the Saturday and race on the Sunday. It was much better than I expected. We had some fantastic seats that gave us a great view of most of the track.

The race was really good. We saw them all come down the start and into the first two corners. I was cheering on Hamilton and the Mercedes. It was great to see the different battles between the cars. There was a fair bit of overtaking in the two corners by our seats and we could see a big screen with the action.

Hamilton finished second and the race was won by Max Verstappen in the Red Bull. There were lots of passionate fans, mainly supporting Ferrari and Red Bull.

As usual with these events. Getting to the track and getting home was a pain in the arse. The track is about an hour from KL centre and in the race traffic it took about two hours both days. There was a fair bit of waiting for buses and queuing.

Big queues!
It was a great experience and something I'd do again. Sadly, this was the last one in KL. There is one in Singapore which would be great but its three times the price of the KL GP. I may go to it but we will see.
