I returned to Bien Hoa this past weekend to complete some more examining. This is about an hour north of Ho Chi Minh City.
Its a small town and we were located at a school on its main road.
As we arrived early, I went for a short walk and took some photos. As you can see, its like most other small towns in Vietnam.
Decided to leave England in 2011 to teach English overseas and have not looked back since. During this time I've done the CELTA, CELT'YL, DELTA and a MA in Tesol. I've been writing this blog since leaving to keep people back home up to date on what's happening.

Bien Duong trip, Vietnam
I did some examining this past weekend. It was an away trip about an hour and a half outside the city. We were taken to a university which was a strange building and very quiet. As it was the weekend it was a big empty building as the photos show.
I'm sure the place is much more full of life during the week. I was shown to a classroom where I spent the next few hours before being loaded back into a minivan and taken back to the city.

Trip home from Vung Tau on the Hydrofoil to Saigon
As stated in the last post. Today we took the hydrofoil back from Vung Tau to Saigon. This was interesting as it goes through the river network in between all the mangrove forests.
We had seats but i spent most of the time outside looking at the view.
There was also some construction of some pretty big bridges across the river.
and that's it! It was a nice change from using the roads. I'm sure we will visit Vung Tau again for a break in the near future. Back to work tomorrow.

Weekend trip to Vung Tau, Vietnam
Been working hard and I've got a nice weekend off so felt we could go away on a short trip together to Vung Tau. As previously stated, its a few hours from Saigon and by the seaside. We took a nice luxury van with lovely reclining seats. It was nice until it broke down. It reminded me of the old says when I used to travel through Cambodia. We had to wait for another one to come and get us. I'm kind of used to these things happening now so just roll with it. It only delayed us by around 30 minutes.
Our hotel room was nice and more like an apartment. half of it was a glass wall and we could even see the big Jesus statue in the distance. I've added an arrow to the picture for clarity.

and below are some more random photos.
We have decided to not take the same bus back and are taking a Hydrofoil instead.

Random buildings in Taiwan
Below are a few random pictures of buildings. I'm always interested in the buildings in these cities and seeing how people live. Below are some that didn't really fit into a post so I've stuck them here. They range from the new and the old and an abandoned government office.
Off home now and back to work for ten more weeks before another trip. Itws getting towards crunch time with my masters. The deadline is in August so this will be taking up most of my energy until then.
Taiwans Night Markets
I've said before how good the night markets but its not just in Taipei they are good. We also has some good night markets in Kenting National Park and Kaohsiung City. Below are a load of pictures taken at the night markets. You can buy all sorts of meats and different parts of the animals. There are a few veggie options for me. There was a very nice BBQ'd mushroom dish!! These markets really are one of the highlights of Taiwan.
