Random buildings in Taiwan

Below are a few random pictures of buildings. I'm always interested in the buildings in these cities and seeing how people live. Below are some that didn't really fit into a post so I've stuck them here. They range from the new and the old and an abandoned government office.

Off home now and back to work for ten more weeks before another trip.  Itws getting towards crunch time with my masters. The deadline is in August so this will be taking up most of my energy until then.

Taiwans Night Markets

I've said before how good the night markets but its not just in Taipei they are good. We also has some good night markets in Kenting National Park and Kaohsiung City. Below are a load of pictures taken at the night markets. You can buy all sorts of meats and different parts of the animals. There are a few veggie options for me. There was a very nice BBQ'd mushroom dish!! These markets really are one of the highlights of Taiwan.

The BBQ mushrooms!!

Around Kaohsiung City, Taiwan

We will be leaving Taiwan soon. It's been nice to return here. Kaohsiung has been okay. Nice to explore but I wouldn't come back. Here are some more random photos from around the city. The photos below were taken from this art on the metro. It was pretty cool so I thought I'd throw these on here.

Below is a nice temple. I didn't go in.

Below is the tallest building in Kaohsiung City. It's appropriately called 'the sky tower' and stands at 347.5 meters tall.

Jin Old Street and Island visit, Kaohsiung, Taiwan

In the afternoon after our visit to the temple, we visited this small Island just off the coast.

You had to take a 5 minute ferry to get to the Island.

Once you got to the Island, there was a small town centre and a brown sanded beach. We had a walk around and relaxed a bit before leaving after a few hours.

Nice place to visit, but I wouldn't go back.

Dragon and Tiger Pagoda, Kaohsiung, Taiwan

Today we visited a fancy pagoda in Kaohsiung at a lake. We caught the metro and then walked to the lake where it was located

Not a bad pagoda, it had a nice zigzag entrance and then you walked in and out through a tiger and dragon.

It also had a very nicely decorated entrance and a box where you could make a 'free donation'.

When you got to the top it provided a nice view of the lake.
